Cosmos-14 Solar Rainbow

Discover the stunning effects of Solar Rainbow, a highly fluid, dark gloss glaze with iridescent rainbow crystals that break translucent. Perfect for adding a unique, colorful touch to your ceramic pieces, this glaze ensures a striking finish with every use.

  • Application: Apply 4 coats to Cone 04 bisqueware.
  • Firing: Performs best at cone 6 but can be fired to cone 5.
  • Special Instructions: For optimal results, leave the inside or back of the form unglazed. Solar Rainbow can be fired with a normal medium-speed firing schedule, but a controlled cooling schedule enhances crystal growth for a more vibrant effect.
  •  Runny Nature: This glaze is prone to running, so it’s recommended to stop the glaze about half an inch above the foot. Use a drip tray or soft bricks to protect kiln shelves.
  • Food Safety: Yes, Solar Rainbow is food safe. However, due to its durability, it is not recommended for surfaces that come into direct contact with food.

Elevate your ceramic artwork with the mesmerizing, iridescent effects of Solar Rainbow glaze, ensuring careful application and firing for the best results.
