Our Artisan Ceramics Facility
Taller Gingell is an artisan ceramics studio located in a historical building from 1892 in downtown Barcelona. We are a production ceramics studio with approximately 200 m2 space. You are welcome to visit in person, prior to the event.
We are able to host small group events up to 20 people and our facility can comfortably host groups up to 40 people for a larger corporate event on request. Our ceramics studio is accredited by the Generalitat de Catalunya as an Artisan Ceramics Workshop. Our products are marked D'Artesania Catalana as accredited by the Consorci de Comerç Artesania i Moda de Catalunya (CCAM).

Are we located close to the Barcelona City Centre?
Taller Gingell is an artisan ceramics studio located in downtown Barcelona. It's located in the Poble-sec neighborhood. We're centrally located next to Montjuic Park, site of the 1992 Olympic Games. It's about a 12 minute walk from the city centre through the Gothic Quarter, 15 minutes to El Born and 10 minute walk to Las Ramblas and Port of Barcelona.
We are two streets from Blai Street, a pedestrian street filled with tapas bars, locally known as pintxos. Blai is a great pedestrian street where you can head out to a bar or restaurant for brunch, a drink or cocktail.
What is a Creative Barcelona Hen Party Like?
If the bride and her accompanying group are creative and artsy types, she'll love our space and activities. We offer bespoke hen do workshops and ideas to give you inspiration for the perfect Barcelona hen weekend. We can also design an activity to serve as a hen do ice breaker activity, if desired. What will you do during your hen do activity?
You'll have an amazing Barcelona hen party experience. Plus, you'll get your hands dirty.
While our studio practice is ceramics and we like to share a lot about ceramics; we focus on keeping the activity light-hearted and fun so your hen do activity is enjoyable for everyone. As your event is private, the entire studio space is allocated for your hen party Barcelona.
The hen do workshop gives you a unique opportunity to learn about artisan ceramics, and work hands-on in an artisan ceramics studio. Workshops typically last between 2 to 3 hours.
(1) Experience Artisan Craft
We start with an introduction to our facilities and to basic ceramic processes.
(2) The Activity
Then out come the aprons. We'll get things setup and explain the clay workshop and timeline. We'll lead you through each step to ensure all group members are successful. We're certain you will be excited to learn more about ceramics, but also see your own creations come to life.
(3) A Memorable Experience
At the end of the workshop your group will have created a memorable ceramic piece. The product is then glazed and kiln fired. The final ceramic creations are ready about two weeks after the workshop and can be picked up at our ceramic studio or shipped via DHL Express to your location.

Your Hen Do Ceramics Host
Wendy Gingell is a recognised ceramic artist and has several years experience as a facilitator for diverse groups. Wendy is a ceramicist whose work has been exhibited in Europe and North America. In the United States, Wendy has exhibited at the Smithsonian, the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the American Craft Council craft shows. Her work is part of permanent museums and private collections in North America and Europe. She has attended various international artist residencies for ceramics, including the International Ceramic Workshop, Kesckemet, Hungary; ProjectArt, Cummington, Massachusetts, United States; AIR Vallauris, Vallauris, France; and Medalta, Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada.
She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture and a Bachelor of Art History. She is a current member of the Association of Artists and Craftsmen of the FAD (A-FAD), the Associació Ceramistes de Catalunya (ACC) and the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA - USA). She is a ceramic artist accredited by the Generalitat de Catalunya with an artisan card number 15,932.
She has professional education training. For 5 years she facilitated training for Canada's National youth program, coordinating and facilitating educational training for groups of young adults. In addition, she also has training from the National Endowment for The Arts in the USA in teaching art. She currently is a full time ceramicist running her own workshop and artisan academy Taller Gingell. Taller Gingell is an accredited and licensed artisan arts academy.
Plus, Wendy's really nice and fun, or so some say.
What's included?
Everything. All instruction, materials, clay, firings and glazes included. Yes we provide aprons. The finished creations are available about two weeks after the event.
