Create your own tile - be part of a Barcelona community ceramics project

This is an artisan ceramics activity in Barcelona.

Come and have fun. Make two ceramic tiles, one for you and the other is added to our community mural project. All materials and kiln firing are included. Instruction in Spanish and English.

Spend a few minutes visiting our ceramics workshop and learning about the ceramics process and trying it for yourself! Come on your own or with a friend - this is an open, friendly environment.

This activity takes about between one to two hours to complete and is suitable for adults and children ages 5 and up.

What you’ll learn and what we’ll do

You will learn about the ceramics process, different clays and decoration techniques.

Let the fun begin.

Out come the aprons, clay and tools to get your hands dirty. Hands on, you will make and decorate two terracotta tiles. One for you and one to add to our community mural project.

Last, it’s time to clean up to look respectable out on the street. Soap, water and hand washing is available.

All materials and kiln firings are included. No need to bring anything special with you, just arrive 5 minutes before class. We’ll have an apron ready for you.

No prior ceramics experience is necessary.

Instruction is in Spanish and /or English based on your preferences.

Your Finished Tiles

Ceramics take a bit of time to be kiln fired. So we offer two options for your finished tiles if you are just visiting Barcelona:

Option 1:

A few days later your finished tile pieces come out of the kiln and are ready to be picked up or mailed to you. Shipping is not included in the workshop.

Option 2:

Just visiting Barcelona? You can leave your two tiles to be added to the community mosaic and select one finished tile made by Taller Gingell at our workshop in Barcelona to take home.
